Manufactured with a finished quality high enough that they can be left exposed, Feature Trusses are a cost-effective way of opening up the roof space, providing extra height and light.
Using Feature Trusses in your building, whether residential or commercial, is an easy way of adding an eye catching architectural feature and an open, spacious centre piece.

Timbers used for Feature Trusses
Depending on the look and feel to be acheived, Feature Trusses are manufactured from a variety of different timbers. Typically - softwood for a more contemporary feel, and Oak for a more traditional rustic look. Engineered Glulam Timber is also often used.
Open & Closed Feature Trusses
As with other Trusses, Feature trusses can be either Open (also referred to as raised tie) or Closed. Open Feature Trusses are used to create Vaulted ceilings because the raised tie creates more open space. (for further information see our post on Truss Types).
